  • the clipping path of EPS/TIFF samples is now also visible in PageMaker

  • added option "Create EPSF also for clipped & hi-fi images" to the Layout Samples tab of Sampler Queue Properties. If "Create TIFF sample for raster hi-res, else EPS" is selected, EPS samples are also created from non-EPS hi-res image if the hi-res image is a multichannel image, includes a clipping path or color channels that do not belong to the selected color mode

  • EPS samples with printable data are now by default readable by PhotoShop

  • fixed a problem with EPS samples placed into PageMaker 7.0 that could cause PageMaker not to include the images when printing

  • nested folders and files can now be deleted with the Explorer in an InPlace sampler queue, which is configured to "Auto Delete Samples" or "Resample if Sample is deleted"

  • InDesign 1.5.2 now can list the PhotoShop clipping path in "Object->Clipping Path" if user imports a low-res sample image

  • solved a problem when EPS samples with PhotoShop information could not be placed into QuarkXPress documents

  • fixed a problem when OPI images could be incorrectly positioned / sized when printing through the OPI server

  • fixed a problem when print files created when printing InDesign jobs always used the same file name and overwrote an existing print file

  • fixed a problem with sampling PhotoShop 6.0 files

  • removed a  memory leak in InPlace sampler queues

x.832 build

  • PICT reading problem solved

  • fixed a problem with EPS/PICT samples that were not readable by Quark because the PostScript code comment for PhotoShop resource length was 0. The bug occurred with hi-res that included PhotoShop resource.

x.830 build

  • skipping temp folders fixed

  • fixed a problem with deadlock for InPlace sampler queues, which failed to start because their input path was invalid

x.828 build

  • added option "Make samples much smaller than hi-res" to the Name tab of Sampler Queue Properties in order to improve the resolution reduction factor of samples

x.827 build

  • for InPlace folders: if user deletes a sample, then the Sampler re-samples the original and the layout sample is re-created

  • reading JPEGs with resolution in dots/cm corrected

  • when writing images including alpha channel with the jpeg compression predetermined, the tiff samples switch from jpeg to lzw compression automatically in order for the alpha channel data not to be lost

x.826 build

  • printing through hot folder of PDFs with rotated fields in AcroForms fixed

x.823 build

  • in order to use the print server started as service on Windows NT 4.0 Server with user account you had to set the registry DWORD value "IGSY" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\cyan\Opium4\ServerKernel" to "1". Now this patch is automated.

  • help file updated, appended and improved

x.822 build

  • print server can now insert PDFs into jobs. PDFs or their FPO (proxy/sample) images, placed into e.g. Quark documents and omitted while printing, can now be inserted by the print server into the jobs.

  • support of encrypted PDFs added

  • problem with TCP/IP printing to certain print servers solved

  • support of  true type fonts in PDFs added

  • help file updated, appended and improved

x.821 build

  • for PDF printing: selection of printer input slot added to print queue settings

  • the print server now creates unique print file names for each printed job. This solves a problem when printing several pages to hot folders (incoming folders) of BESTColor.

x.820 build

  • support for nested TIFF samples added. You can now omit TIFF samples in Quark and the OPI server inserts the correct hi-res image file.

  • added Windows XP support

  • : added print-to-remote-folders support

  • manuals updated, appended and improved

x.818 build

  • "Create Proof" option has been improved. Downsampling when doing proof printing with a lower resolution now works correctly: only the image data in the actually required resolution is inserted into the jobs and sent to the printer. When calculating the required image data resolution, the image scaling factor of job is now considered correctly.

x.814 build

  • : PDF files, which are received as files through hot folders (incoming folders), can now be printed

  • fixed a problem when PhotoShop on Macs displayed an error message when trying to save to an SFM share, which is completely scanned by the sampler

  • added programming API to server, so that 3rd party software developer can use printing & sampling functionalities of the product

x.812 build

  • fixed a problem when in rare cases jobs larger than 500 MB are not printed

x.811 build

  • fixed a problem with set cropmark, mirror, etc. in the print queue properties. Before, it could happen that if set cropmarks, mirror, etc. is enabled in the print queue properties, the job is not accepted by the printer

  • optimized memory usage when printing. Now much less memory is used when printing

  • fixed a problem when AppleTalk (PAP) queries are not correctly answered for the MacOS9 Chooser.

x.810 build

  • the installer and the installation folder now includes the file "build#.txt", which names the current build number of the product

  • if the Opium Server is started on a machine with NT4 as a service, which logs on as Administrator (or another user account), then an NT security function causes our software not to start. This problem does not occur on Windows 2000 and looks like an NT bug, which is triggered by our software. If you want that the Opium Server service logs on with a user account, you have to do the following: Set the registry DWORD value "IGSY" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\cyan\Opium4\ServerKernel" to "1". Setting this registry value to 1 causes the Opium Server to deactivate the security feature of its  user interface and therefore it will not call the NT security function at service startup.

x.808 build

  • fixed a problem of sampling JPEG files written by PhotoShop

  • fixed a problem, which caused PhotoShop to write a large file (temporary items)

  • new option: printing to folders allows writing the print file to a temp folder first

  • when printing to folders, the original print job file name will be retained

x.800 build

  • fix: in case cyanPrintIP installs the Windows PostScript drivers the first time on a system, it could happen that it fails to create 1 Windows printer - a second try to install this Windows printer always succeeded

x.799 build

  • fix: failures in Japanese resources could cause the cyanPrintIP administration program to crash: fixed an uninstall problem

x.798 build

  • fix: it could happen that parts of the registry could have too restrictive permissions - normal users couldn't access those parts: hide printer option in AppleTalk printer destination changed in the way that it is more general

x.789 build

  • TCP/IP Printing fixed

x.788 build

  • sharing a print queue as Windows printer fixed

  • added missing Admin Resource DLL
